I’m Shirley Browning, a watercolor, photo, and digital artist creating nature‑inspired artwork for modern, intentional spaces. My work blends soft color palettes, quiet landscapes, and minimal compositions to bring a sense of calm into a space.
My creative journey began long before I opened my studio. I spent more than twenty‑five years in the world of software engineering, working in roles that challenged me to think creatively and solve complex problems. Over time, I realized the thing I wanted to create most was something you could live with, something that brought beauty and calm into a space. That shift led me back to art, where photography, watercolor, and design became my way of reconnecting with creativity and the natural world.
I have lived in Germany, Greece, the Pacific Northwest, California, and now the Midwest. Each place has shaped my palette and my sense of color, light, and composition. My work is also deeply connected to the people who have shaped my life, including my four children, my growing family, and the landscapes we have explored together. These experiences continue to influence the quiet, intentional quality of my art.
Today, I create fine art prints that reflect a modern, minimal aesthetic while honoring the organic forms and colors that inspire me. Each piece is designed to feel calm, balanced, and timeless.

My process blends traditional and digital methods. I begin with photography or watercolor studies, then refine each piece digitally to create soft gradients, layered textures, and a cohesive color story. Many pieces are inspired by the places I have lived and traveled. Coastlines in Greece, forests in the Pacific Northwest, and the soft light of the Midwest often find their way into my palettes and compositions. These influences help shape the calm, nature‑led aesthetic that defines my work.
