Monstera - Watercolor Art Print | Coastal Collection

I painted Monstera after a trip to St. Kitts, where we stayed one thousand feet above the point where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Caribbean Sea. The resort was surrounded by lush tropical foliage in endless varieties, each leaf offering its own shape, shadow, and shade of green. That landscape became the inspiration for this series of three tropical leaves, each one painted in blues, greens, and turquoise tones that echo the island’s vibrant palette.

This Monstera stands alone against a clean white background, allowing its form, movement, and soft watercolor transitions to take center stage. The gentle gradients and layered washes capture the calm, shaded beauty of the plants that surrounded us, each one a quiet reminder of warm breezes and sunlit mornings in the tropics.
